TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (USA Today) - Diop Kamau's home in a leafy, gated community just north of town is not easy to find — for good reason.
For more than two decades, the 52-year-old former Hawthorne, Calif., police officer has made a living embarrassing cops with a video camera.
Stung by the rough treatment of his father during a 1987 traffic stop by another California department, Kamau turned to a second career recording police across the country in compromising — often abusive — encounters with the public.

The Thought Police strike in Connecticut
Cops in New Haven, Connecticut, have arrested a 58-year-old man simply because he made mention of a recent Manchester shooting rampage that killed nine people and said he understood the killer's mindset. Yeah, seems like probable cause to me.

Oklahoma House passes bill outlawing militias and gang recruiting
(The Oklahoman) - Recruiting membership in an unauthorized militia or the Ku Klux Klan would be a crime if legislation approved Thursday by the House of Representatives becomes law.
"This is making unauthorized militias illegal," said Rep. Mike Shelton, the amendment’s author.
Both groups were added in an amendment to Senate Bill 2018, which would increase the penalty for aiding or soliciting gang membership from one year in prison to five years in prison. It also would create a new crime for gang-related offenses as a condition of membership, with the penalty being five years in prison.
